Industrial Permanent Magnet Motor Application Enters the Guinness World Record

Shigatse City is located in the southwestern border of my country, in the middle section of the three major mountain ranges of the Himalayas, Gangdise and Nyainqentanglha. The average altitude is above 4,000 meters. It has low air density, high sunshine intensity, high altitude and low air pressure.

Shandong Ourian Electric Co., Ltd., a third-batch national "Little Giant" enterprise in specialized expertise and innovation, collaborated with Libo Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd., a leading industry chain and a national manufacturing champion, to develop a long-distance, self-generating belt conveyor system. This system, developed in 2022, was deployed on a clinker cement production line at a building materials company in the city. The system is equipped with three intelligent permanent magnet motor systems. To address the unique challenges of high altitude, low air pressure, thin air, large temperature swings, and complex and changing environments, the team overcame technical challenges in ensuring the high-altitude suitability of permanent magnet motors, achieving the first safe and stable operation of an industrial permanent magnet motor in China's high-altitude cement production line. The production line, with a confirmed altitude of 4,251.951 meters, was awarded the Guinness World Record for "Highest Altitude Cement Production Line" after a rigorous review of the entire challenge process and all evidence.

The implementation of this project has promoted the advancement of the industry's technological level, injected strong impetus into the industrial upgrading, energy transformation and green development of Shigatse City, a plateau land with an altitude of more than 4,000 meters, and played a demonstration and leading role in the green exploitation of resources in high-altitude areas of the Tibet Autonomous Region. It will promote more Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to the world.
